I spent most of the day in the kitchen yesterday and was up at 6 today and back at it. At 1pm I put the roast in the oven and bread is out. I will spend some time cleaning before dinner prep is near.I’m the last one awake here. It’s been a beautiful Christmas Eve, although I am constantly exhausted with a toddler around. Her parents are, too, so I don’t feel so badly. I will take care of her for 3 days in February, so I have to cure my knees, golfer’s elbow, and IT band aches and pains before then.
We have agreed she will go to day care for two of the days so my body doesn’t give out completely! Even a half day will give me a chance to pick up the house, cook, and/or take a nap. My daughter does all her housework with the baby on her hip, especially after work! Little Darling is at the mama-mama-mama stage. My kid says she feels like a celebrity! Joy and even applause when she appears, even from a trip to the dishwasher! Plus desperate hugging around her legs. Dad feels left out but he will get his turn.
I’ve got to hit the hay. Goodnight to all, and Merry Christmas!
My oven is Gas and Gas ovens do not seem to have the proofing option. It is DONE! My house looks great. I ache all over. I will drink a cup of coffee to relax, watch a bit of tv, to give the Advil a chance to work, then go to sleep. I will be up early, and start all the cooking. Most of the prep work is done, so it won't be too rough.
Ron, there is a Bread Proof setting on my oven too. That one, I've used. It works great.
