It was really stupid because the check was drawn on a us bank.It was probably the teller... Years ago, my dad's boat was in the ship yard down in the Miami area. It was going to be there for at least 6 months, so they opened a bank account down there too. When my dad's paychecks would come in, they would go deposit the check, than want the bank to route a portion of the check into their account here. The account here was set up for paying bills, and some of it was automatic.
The teller let them know, they could not route the money. ???? Ok, she called another person, they called another. Finally, one of the tellers knew how to do it, and tried showing the others. Next month, same thing. They only had the one teller that could do it. If she was out, or on vacation when they went in, no one there could do it. Want to hear the crazy part? They could use that same bank's ATM outside, and IT could do what was needed. Crazy eh?
International checks can be a bit tricky, especially when a local bank doesn't ever deal with them. Again, most of it relies on a teller, or manager that has had experience in dealing with the situation, or they're lost. Sometimes you have to go higher up the food chain to get to someone that can find out how to go about handling that type transaction. Since it's going to be on a semi-steady basis, you might want to do so. At my parents' bank, when my dad worked, and got paid from overseas accounts, the lady that handled mostly everything for my mom, was Celia. She was the assistant bank manager.
Thanks Becky! Good luck on your test!Hi everyone. Cash is still with us, in fact he is back to what passes for normal for Cash. We talked to the vet about what happened to him. Cash had vomited the day before and he speculated that may have set off his hypoglycemic attack
Varn is fine. Vet said he was dissolving an internal suture and it was causing the irritation. He said that happened at around 3 weeks if it was going to happen so he is right on schedule. No antibiotics needed. He said he and his siblings would take care of it for him.
While he was there, we witnessed him actually playing with one of the office cats which prompted me to say, sure, play with the vets cats, try to kill ours, that's the way to do it...stupid dog.
Other than that, I'm still studying....we did get out today and clear a couple of paths behind the house. Felt good to be active and it was a fairly nice day outside.
@CapricornFarm, your chicks are adorable!
"he" being the teller or the manager?Idk, I even asked for input from the manager and he refused. Idiots!
OK, I'm confused, I thought you said it was a Canadian check (or is that cheque?). Canadian person with a US Bank account?It was really stupid because the check was drawn on a us bank.
The manager was no help. Teller is a woman. The check originated in Canada, but was drawn on a US bank , in us dollars."he" being the teller or the manager?
If the former I would have parked my butt outside the bank manager's office until he came out if it took all day. If the latter I'd be telling the manager off, including the fact that you had been cashing those checks for 3 years and to get his supervisor (next up the chain in the bank ASSUMING it isn't a 1 location bank) either in person or on the phone ASAP.
