The Old Folks Home

When my son was still a infant and just could scoot around on his behind. I found him sitting by an outlet, with several "child proof outlet covers 'in his lap. My sister's daughters were tested as gifted. So was my son at 4 yrs. old. I guess the fruit lands near the tree.A million years ago the school guidance counselor said I was the brightest of my litter (older sister + baby brother). They didn't like that.

I choose to groom dogs, and to breed and show Cockers. I also wrote feature articles for a few dog magazines, gratis. My parents were horribly unhappy with my choices. But, gosh, I bred some fantastic dogs with great, stable personalities. My Ch.stud brought in enough $$$ to pay off most of the vet bills. I felt I won the jackpot. Money has never meant the same to me, as it did/does to my family.

Yeah, you need money to survive but, I have simple needs.

Happier way to live I think.

When my kids were little, all of a sudden all of the switch plate covers started to disappear.

I did the rounds.. made scary eyes at the 2 tall enough to reach the switches... it wasn't them.

I was pretty sure they were telling the truth, back then my "scary eyes" worked well... so I couldn't figure out why the switch plate covers were disappearing.

I finally caught the tiny just barely 2 year old!

He couldn't reach the switches... he would super quietly go and fetch a screwdriver... then super quietly grab a chair, scoot it to a light switch and remove the switch, hide the switch... and hide all evidence!!!

My 2 year old fixed our VCR! I have no idea how

My father also had a nice fall off a ladder and fractured 3 places in his spine. Had a hospital bed in the basement for him (wouldn't fit anywhere else). The nurse set up an iv and told us (mom and I ) had to use it. Duh! Thank goodness my son watched her do it. He took over for us. He was 11.

Since he was a little tike, he was infatuated with machines, any kind. Think it was spontaneous generation in his brain. Guess he just didn't want to end up a dog groomer. Got recruited from freshman year in college(U of I in Chicago) by Microsoft. While attending a job fair.

Furious he couldn't go to U of I in Southern IL. where his girlfriend went. Applied too late.I told him "Bloom where you are planted." He thought I was nuts. But,ended up at the" Mother ship" anyway. Has a really great girlfriend- not the blond twerp from high school, who wouldn't give him the time of day. Ha hope she ended with someone just like her.

I came here from the "Found an egg on my dock" thread. The Egret hatched today.

Grandson woke up, and threw up. He said he felt better afterwards. He's eaten his breakfast, and drank some Gatorade since then, and seems to be doing fine. No fever, or anything. Maybe something he ate? He had a Happy Meal last night, so it's possible.
