The Old Folks Home

There are farms on the border between Northern Ireland (which is part of the UK, using Sterling) and Ireland (Eire, a separate country, using the Euro) which have been notorious for smuggling and sucklike, more or less since the border existed. See e.g. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/cri...-organised-crime-element-worries-me-1.3715099
Not split land here but San Diego county borders on Mexico. Baja California ... There is a Train track That goes from San diego down through Tijuana and parallels the Border through Mexico for about sixty mile then come across the border again at Tecate.

Tecate is where there is a huge Brewery, they make Tecate Beer there. One of my favorite Mexican Beers.

Not the first time I've known someone with split property, but normally it's split between two counties, not two states.

There was a situation near here a few years back, where a new survey put part of a subdivision across the NC/SC state line. There's at least one house where you can sleep in one state and eat breakfast in the other, without ever stepping outside. :gig

We see farms here that are sitting on the county line, half in one county the other half on another. Makes tax time interesting to say the least.

Morning everyone. Rainy and windy here today meaning typical weather for this time of the year. Yesterday is was just blamed hot in the morning then it rained and dropped the temp over 10 degrees almost instantly. One minute we were flinging open windows and the next slamming them shut. Gotta love spring weather.

I've decided that my body no longer enjoys mowing the lawn. I love to mow, always have. I put on my head set, crank up my disc player and have at it. I'm sure the people going by are startled by my singing at the top of my lungs as I push my detailing mower around but I don't care.

The last two times I've mowed, by the time I'm finished, my neck hurts, my shoulders hurt, my knees hurt, my feet hurt, my lower back hurts, I'm exhausted and I just feel physically ill, I presume from the pain. DH mows with the Iseki and a pull behind finishing mower. With the amount of land we have to mow it's the only way to do it. I finish up with my push mower and then clipper around the trees and such with grass sheers. I'm suspecting it's the changes in my neck and shoulders that are causing the problems and since there is nothing to be done about it I must find a way to work around it.....and that I will do. One way or another.

Sorry Micro, that sucks.

We have check points coming into and out of the state. Asking if you had any vegitable matter or non permissible item to come in the state. Then there are Border patrol check points into San Diego county... On all the main roads.

So far we are not restricted for travel thank goodness. Because When I want to get Chicks the only place I can get them is in Yuma AZ. Newcastle in other counties. But we get our mail delivered in Los Angeles and the chicks are sent off from there. Unfortunately Los Angeles is one of the Newcastle quarantine zones.
From the CFDA:
Attention: The United States Postal Service (USPS) is not allowing shipments of live birds (all) or hatching/embryonated eggs into or out of zip codes 90000-93599 in California.
There are a few hatcheries in San Diego County and I hope to get some chicks there. Even some exotics like Ayam Cemin and Svart Hona...

So it will be a while... before I can jump into that venture hopefully Newcastle will be under control.

I hope you can find some nice breeds!

Alabama has no travel bans, so I can leave Florida without a problem. Florida has a travel ban. There are road blocks coming into Florida. Those from 4 states (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Louisiana) have the choice to leave, or go into mandatory 14 day self quarantine. Temperatures are taken, before you may enter Florida. Anyone with a fever must self-quarantine for 14 days. I may see about a back road. The place I'm going, half of the property is in Florida, and the other half is in Alabama. They chose an Alabama address due to taxes being lower there.
I would imagine the quarantine rules would be stricter in States heavily hit by the virus

Each morning when I drive to work, I drive into Solono county for about a minute around a curve and then I am back in Yolo County

Yep. That it does but it's no more or no less than a lot of folks experience with stenosis. And me being me means I will find a way around it....somehow.
An elderly gentleman from church had an emergency operation for stenosis yesterday. It was for his neck. They went in and opened up the nerve channels.

He was met at the car and taken into the hospital. No Family was allowed in and He will be there for about three days. I imagine getting home will be similar with no one allowed in to pick him up
