Bobbie Jo and her chicks. She has the three Fayoumi's and one SWD. I'm thinking one of the Fayoumis is half/half...half what besides Fayoumi is anybody's guess. Time will tell.

You will have roosters!
Hmm interesting! Didn’t realize similar things existed in other breeds! Most of these double merle dogs are also born solid white which might be where the “lethal white” name comes in. Although they don’t always die I don’t think
White boxer's are usually deaf also. Yrs ago buddy of mine and I had brother boxer's. He kept one pup from a litter of his that was white and deaf. Didn't really affect her at all other than she couldn't hear you![]()
That’s amazing! Haha love it!Our grocery store today, cracked me up pretty funny. From Florida. Dogs were so calm , several other people taking pics also

Yes! Common in them too! They usually hearing test the litters before they go home because it’s so common. Maybe not as common now with all the testing.Dalmations is another, i think.
Its all about the white.
Huh, very interesting!!!The white doesn't hold true in Australian Cattle Dogs, tho. They are born white with the exception of any 'spots' they may have. No spots=white when born. Their colored coat comes in as they mature. Ours are 18 months old now and their color is still changing.
With them, you have to watch out for Degenerative retinopathy. I had a Mini Schnauzer who had that and went blind when he was 5. He got along fine and compensated well with his blindness. I was amazed as to how well he got around and relied on his sense of smell and touch to navigate. I didn't even know he was vision impaired until he ran into a kitchen chair that hadn't been pushed in.
Does anybody know if the deafness occurs in white Miniature Schnauzers?
