The site is: http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/monthly/graph/USMO0460 Woodland is close to the break between the Coast Range Mountains and the Santa Cruz Mountains. We actually get an off shore Ocean wind for a lot of the Summer called the Delta Breeze. The lows you see are because of that Breeze. North of us and south of us does not get that so the record and average temperatures are higher. I grew up in Red Bluff California and the Record high for Red Bluff does not fit on the Chart! 121.9 in 1976! The chart says 121 but drops it below the 119 that fits. I lived there then and it was terrible. We had 7 of our chickens blow up....Quite sad.
Down by Suisun where you are looking through the Golden Gate that Delta Breeze can be a 20-30 MPH wind in the summer.

Why is 121 less than 119 and 118? Did I have a stroke that I don't know about and lost those brain cells?

I think the problem was that the graph "topped out" at 120. To have put 121 where it belonged, they'd have had to do the graph over again, with a scale that went higher than 120.

Yes! That is the answer! There is only one other place in the US that gets that hot so they messed up when they designed the Scale.

Just popping in to say hey.
Hey!

I saw how many posts I had missed and decided I didn't have it in me, so bypassed.

You all know how horrible my hatches have been. Well thank goodness for broodies. I was working hard to build up my lavender AMs and I did. I'm really happy with them too. Thought I'd be smart and sell a few and then though I better not. Besides, they've all become sweethearts, so aint nobody leaving. I have more SPPRs and although I wanted an additional roo only got pullets. hehe...........This year I'm working on more FBCMs and blue AMs. Oh and the bantam chocolate AMs too. I had some nice pullets from the 2 AM pens, but for some stupid reason they decided to get into the dog run and visit. Wasn't a smart thing to do. My fear this year though is that with all the pullets I hatched out last year, I'm hoping it's not once again, the year of the roosters. 50/50 and I'd be happy.

Just waiting around now for the Stockton show and job hunting. Me and the beasts may be living out of my truck come Spring.
