"tooth lottery"
Your probably right I got lucky. I actually attribute it to never going to the dentist. Which is prob wrong also. Pretty funny my kids are fanatics during this fake shutdown not going anywhere no school, watched every season of Alone, the survival show on History channel. Winner last yr talking to the camera all alone mentioned not having any cavities and said it was because he never went to the dentist, said "they poke and prod and scrape and cause cavities because they need you to come back" .... DW looked at me and I just laughed 😂 she knew it is one of the dumb things I always say :gig

I find humor in it, DW doesn't. Ohh well. Like I said kids watched all seasons of History's survival series 'Alone'. The boy, eight yrs old remembered this summer I said some of the stones he found in our driveway was flint, he saved them. This summer I caught him smacking them on metal, "what the heck are you doing?' trying to make a fire dad...
Well I really don't know that's flint, just something my dad always told me. Googled it, guess it might be flint. Remember playing with it when I was a kid and never saw a spark. Come on boy let's try it with some high carbon steel (prob where I went wrong as a kid) took one of my good big files and struck a piece SPARKS!!! We played around with it awhile. Did some more Googleing research.
We actually had better luck with big chunks of granite rocks here, the flint was too small we found. Made some char cloth in a sealed tin. Boy made a few fires using this method. He beat on that rock for hours each time before he got it. That was this summer was hoping he gave it up because it got pretty annoying having to watch him. Nope, just a couple days ago while I was cleaning out my garage decided he needed to try again. When DW came outside and saw he had a little roaring fire going she wasn't too happy. Asked him if I lit it with a lighter, "no mom I did it with this rock just wanted to see if I could still do it". DW complained, I say hey, I'm standing right here, what would you rather he was doing playing roblox on his tablet inside? He's just practicing for "Alone" so he can be a millionaire! He'll win!
She says, yeah last year he was practicing for American Ninja Warrior on your watch and broke his arm .. now I don't have to worry about matches or lighters but a rock and metal!!

:lau:lau:oops:
He's about destroyed my good file. I pointed that out to him. You can buy a new one dad he says...Think I paid $20 for that file and I used it quite often. Been a lot of good fun with him though

We haven't been anywhere much since March. But did visit a distant casino couple months ago. I didn't want to go until the buffet was open, still closed but our oldest dd wanted to go so tried one of their regular restaurants. Loaded tater skins were excellent!! Actually filled us up. We all made a mistake and ordered Ruebens. I don't know what they think a Rueben should be, should've made a complaint there. Should be some some sauerkraut on it. I think they might have put maybe a quarter teaspoon of sauerkraut on them...

They give them a ferro rod on alone...They sell them on amazon! Might be a good christmas present for the boy...make sure the home owners insurance is paid up!

Ferrocerium is a synthetic pyrophoric alloy that produces hot sparks that can reach temperatures of 3,000 °C (5,430 °F) when rapidly oxidized by the process of striking the rod, thereby fragmenting it and exposing those fragments to the oxygen in the air.
