@penny1960, our house would eat a stick vacuum for lunch and pick it's teeth with the attachments (if there are any).

DH bought me a really nice electrolux 7 years ago. It's sitting upstairs, unused as it kept clogging on the hair balls. Now I dust mop, sweep with a broom and follow up with a heavy duty shop vac. Doing all that, I can turn around and have a dust bunny following me.

Our dogs and cats only shed twice a year....hot weather and cold weather.

We have 4 indoor cats here I know hair and a lab sheds 24/7 the dyson animal can do it
