Sleeping in... then having my weekly zoom-coffee hour.Good morning, OF Where is everyone ?
DD1 is safely at school in New Brunswick where Covid is known but pretty rare. She applied for and got a $500 scholarship. And she was awarded a $2,400 scholarship she didn't even know existed (all money in Canadian $). They award it to the top 30 upperclassmen. Surprise! but not surprised, she works her tail off even while living with her 24 hour migraine. She's not relaxed much from her "100% is ALMOST good enough" attitude when it comes to school work.
DW is fine, still working the P.O. 6 days a week.
The 3 cats are fine.
Aquarium fish fine, I have to ASSUME the fish in the pond are fine. I have no idea if the 2 tiny bluegill we rescued and raised in the house all winter when the pond went dry in 2018 are alive or not. They were put back in the pond in May 2019 and haven't been seen since.
The alpacas are fine, just as "do NOT touch me" as ever.
The chickens are upset you didn't ask about themBut they are fine, there are 20 ranging in age 8.5 years (2) to 1.5 years old.
DD2 is fine as well. The ski area finally opened up a few weeks ago so she is back working the bunny slope mid station 5 days a week.
lucky you! But that does seem very weird. Could it be because they didn't hear the patter of tiny feet and endless cheeps last year?I have no idea why I'm still getting 8-12 eggs a day here. It's winter, it's dark, it's cold. I'm not complaining at all, but this is the first year in my 11 years of keeping chickens that I've had eggs all winter from old girls
Hey ..long time no see. Not sure if you heard. My Lisa passed away this past May. She had that kitty quilt with her the whole time in the home. Now, I'll keep it forever because it was one of her favorite things.Thank you so much for the updates. Sorry I missed asking about the chickens.
Your wife probably is working the number of hours I am!
I put 24 eggs in the incubator today, and then because I couldn't get the other 3 to fit (been saving up for the last few days and got to 27 with what was laid today) in the incubator, a late-broody was made a very happy hen tonight.
me: *marking X's on three eggs in the kitchen with a highlighter*
BF: "what's that"
me: "eggs"
BF: "yes, but what are you doing"
me: "they didn't fit in the incubator
BF: "ah, you must have a broody"
