The Old Folks Home

Here are the things I usually give as treats. Snippings of kale or weeds from the greenhouse, barley fodder, their food as a mash (to use up the fines/crumbled bits they don't like), melon or squash guts and seeds, carrot pulp from juicing. Not all of them, just what's on hand. Much less often, maybe 1x week, they get BOSS with a few mealworms.

I picked the 20% because I knew the treats would "dilute" the protein percentage a little. Their treats are 10% or less of their feed. Except with the mash, since that is their feed.

I'm in "use it up" mode right now, planning my meals from the freezer and what's on hand. So they're getting mash as their treat until the bag of fines is gone. With some snippings of green on top.

OS and egg shells and grit on the side.

Oh, I'm not feeding grower. I'm feeding Nutrena all flock 20%. They're not quite hens (10 months) if that changes anything. I have a cockerel, so that's why I picked all flock.
Perfect!

They do need less treats then. I would follow the pdf guide I posted for table scraps for all treats-- anything other than the poultry feed.

The flock should eat nearly 100% feed until the egg quality is back up
