Ya mice and rats are my worst enemy here so could be allot worse .. Liked your helpers there Cap need to bring mine down for a month that way

yeah, Ron, it wasn't bad enough that we have white tail deer here big enough to slap a saddle on and ride, they had to introduce Elk. Bobcat? Well heck, they aren't a bother. Let's give cougars the run of the state and make it illegal to kill them unless they pose a threat. Now bears. But OH! Wait! They are protected like the cougars are.

Almost makes a body want to hug the foxes that are around. The good news is that the fox around will mean that the rabbits and mice won't be so bad. Just as long as they don't try to get to the chickens. Last two weeks we have been hearing them bark and howl at one another. Mating season and boy are they noisy when they are trying to impress the girls and vice versa. but that means there will be little kits running around wanting to be fed in a few months.

Maybe buy a bag of cheap dog food and put it out near our pond for them?

It would be a tough call on feeding the bears! when they move close to a town and start eating out of landfills and dumpsters, they stop hibernating

The snow that was supposed to start at 5 PM started at 12:30. Glad that I did my feed shopping early this morning.

We got about 4" last night. Enough to snow blow, enough to make it pretty again. Enough to broom off the roof of the run and freak out the chickens.

Nope had the hard rain real hard on the freeway to Costco lightened a might as we got there.. Was still at it when we came out .. Getting back to our area no rain at all we are 21 miles off from I-5

The shovels are out... Decided to wait to shovel till tomorrow, maybe give it a chance to rain it away so have less shoveling
The plow keeps going and I'm afraid he will fill up the side walk again before anybody uses it off I shovel it off today. Also that snow/ice off the road is real hard to shovel. I figure if I leave the soft fluffy stuff on the bottom till it stops snowing, the road crap is easier to remove. Just trying to make it easier for Arthur-itis.
