So yeah, plans are great but when it comes to chicken math....don't plan to stick with them

I have four chickens now. If I add four more, I'll be maxed out for the space I have. It might be a really hard sell to talk hubby into making the coop bigger. But I do have plans to enlarge the run this spring...

It's funny.. The neighbor dogs came in to have lunch, and then disappeared. I would almost think they are afraid of Prince or something the way they are acting. Eat and head straight to the back of the house away from Prince. Not like he's ever chased them or anything.

The big girl is Meine, and the little guy is Lilbit.

He'll have 3 ladies to 'cuddle up with' when he's old enough to keep Sara from picking on him. She's a brat which is hard to believe because she's Henri's only offspring and he was as gentle as Ben. Her mom is also a sweetie pie. The other two on the same pen are a Black Copper Marans (Mara) who is really docile and likes him. Then Margaret who is a daughter of my BSL (left the farm in someone's truck) and one the black hens I got last summer. Just waiting for him to grow some horns in a few more weeks and he'll dominate the bratty one in fine style instead of hiding behind me when she's being bratty.

Too bad you are so far away.. I'm going to get rid of two pair here in the spring.. both pullets have just begun to lay, but I don't want to get so crowded.

Thanks for the kind offer. I know once I have 8 total, I'm really going to have to fight the chicken math. My coop is 4x8 and the run is 8x10. So 8 is really the most I want to have with my current set up.
