The Old Folks Home

There is a trick to keeping Stainless Steel appliances pretty. Take a paper towel, and put few drops of olive oil on it, spreading them around. Now scrunch the paper towel. You don't want it too oily, but spread evenly on the paper towel. Wipe the appliance, so there is a very very thin film of olive oil, and let it set. Later on, go wipe down the appliance with a clean paper towel, or cloth to buff it. Over time, this conditions the metal, so it's easier to maintain.
So you "season" it, like with cast iron?

Just the Formica is so easy to destroy, get water damage, cut, burn...... etc.....
Maybe its age? But the Formica countertops we put in our prior house 30 years ago was still in fine shape, no damage, when we sold it last April.

I haven't woke up to it being above freezing for so long I forgot how nice it is!
So true! It was 37°F today with the sun TRYING to shine through the clouds. There was a warm breeze down by the barn.

unless I had the time and desire to be constantly trying to get the finger smudges off of it.
Some people, like us, pretty much ignore that stuff ;)

oat muffins are on the table...old folks need snacks
I'll have a dozen or three... Plenty of work to do outside.. It was up to 72 yesterday, got the two smallest pens rejoined and it's now 5 x 15'. Prince and his lady bug, Mara, will live there until eternity. Another young cockerel 18 weeks old is going out the door today. His daddy was bad about attacking me, he hasn't but when I give him his own lady, he attacked her viciously.. with is feet, and when she hid in the bucket he pulled her out by her neck feathers and attacked her again. Guess he doesn't know what a female is. On the bright side, when I rescued her, she became enamored with me. I sat in the pullet pen with her for a while.. she just stayed by my side with her head snuggled between my arm and my side.. coming out for peeks at me on occasion. She's in with Charlotte, Prince's sister who is also a dear heart. I have two pullets now that really love me. And some how Muffins got over the fence and in with Charlie and Henrietta.. I got in there and she ran to me and into my hands. I took her back over to the right side. Hopefully that won't reoccur. So, now the round pen will be empty, which means I have a grow out pen. UT OHHHHHHhhh.
