The Old Folks Home

I had a wow moment at the dentist today. I went to smile builders dentist month ago as a new patient, they said they are in network . After doing a full mouth xray- the verdict was I have 10 cavities, need a root canal and 2 crowns. Will the insurance cover it? Insurance agent says yes. But now the dentist says they are NOT in network. I have a tooth ache so I go to a family first dentist and they can't do xrays- cause the SB submitted their exray bill and even though the insurance didn't pay it for them, the work was done and they won't pay it again. After a month of back and forth and a greivance SB was found negligent and my coverage was restored. The wow moment? The new dentist says I need a root canal& Crown on the painful tooth(inflammation, not cavity) a broken tooth filled..but wait a moment...ZERO cavities!! Which dentist is right?

Try the link I posted. They will do any depth.

Lots of colors too.
Oh heck no, I ignored you completely ;)

Had to wait until DW got home. I don't see where you can choose a custom depth but they do have them down to 10" so that should probably work. I think we are going to get a set in "Ocean", DW wants something dark.

I'm still trying to figure things out. The GI always comes before visiting hours so I don't get to see his Drs. I'm giving DH some questions to ask. The bleeding slowed down so they are watching him while on clear liquids and IV. They are taking his blood count every couple hours. Then the GI will give the verdict tomorrow whether they cauterize it or just watch him the next couple days. He has an ulcer in the small intestines but I think the Drs aren't quite sure if it's that or the esophagus.
Okay. Glad to hear that he is stable.

IMHO, I've done it myself and a suggestion. Call his GI's doctors office and either talk to his nurse or ask to talk to him. Usually, especially in the case of like your husband they have a critically ill patient, they will always take time to talk to the family.

Pls take care of yourself, Lovesfarms.

I have a grievance with DH dental insurance as well cause he needs 2 teeth pulled. Problem is he has inflammation in the pulp of his teeth and Novocaine doesn't work then, they call it a hot tooth and have to put him to sleep and the insurance won't approve it. But the insurance told me there's no reason the won't cover it if the dentist explains it when he tries to get it preauthorized. Maybe dentists just don't understand insurance??
Oh, doctors understand insurance, they just wish they didn't.

I imagine that with your husband's health being so fragile right now they might take that stance. I'm sorry to say it but insurance companies think they are doctors and the doctors work for them.

This is one of those questions to take to his GI and regular doctors. Ask them what they think he could tolerate right now as far as dental work is concerned.

He was on antibiotics for his teeth before all this started and the insurance process started then already. The insurance meeting will be in two weeks
