Were the rains enough to assist with the fires?Grew up in Houston, in Salt Lake now..we have our own fires, but also get the western smoke..it’s a total drag..! Nice temps after our very, very much needed rains..
I’m not sure..usually rains clear out all the smoke, but, the bad air quality stuck around, it was weird. We went from near 100 to 58 in about 15 minutes, high winds, exploding transformers, power outages, hail..seems like we always get hail with significant rain..Were the rains enough to assist with the fires?
Yes, it seems most of our needed rains are accompanied by damaging winds and hail anymore but that forty degree drop in temp must have been refreshing.I’m not sure..usually rains clear out all the smoke, but, the bad air quality stuck around, it was weird. My parents let us run wild on our place. Just so long as we were home for meals. That was mandatory. We rented 140 acres with 2 houses, my grandparents lived in one, for forty dollars a month. That was the 1950's.I used to go to the creek in summer mom would freak,
I remember a 2 or 3 room shanty, kitchen, living room, 1 bedroom, outhouse, heated water on a cast iron stove that heated the house, water came from an open well that watered the farm, that was late 50's early 60's Ruskin fl, 1st indoor plumbing I remember was my aunts house in Tampa, and Ruskin. My parents let us run wild on our place.
