The Old Folks Home

Good morning! I'm heading to the store after I hang out a load of laundry. They have a UPS store in there and I have to drop off my DH's "poop in a box, non-invasive colonoscopy substitute."

I did mine the other way. At least my results were good. I hope his are too.

When I get back, I'm gonna think about what else to build out of skid wood. I'm really enjoying making stuff. It helps that DH has a nice collection of tools to use. And the patience to teach me.

Good morning, OF. Henri remnants until noon then it will be hot and humid.
Hot and Humid is the norm for here. Finally got the area I call Roxy's Park cleaned up. By then it was 8 am and heating up. Only thing left on the list this morning is feeding the chooks. well and cleaning the floors again. Meine was a dirt basket today.

Lovely, nothing like hot and humid to keep one in the house!

and regretfully had to decided that Arizona would have too much sun for him
Maybe a good plan given the water, ie lack thereof, issues!

Morning old folks! Stay safe, stay cool! We have a heat advisory through Thursday here. I need to pick tomatoes and green beans for the freezer and should process a few squash not to mention pick up more that I tossed out of the garden and into the yard last week.

I have no idea what I am going to do with all of them. DH and I will be eating a lot of squash this winter.

Set up a stand near the road and sell 'em. Sometimes honor systems do work.

Well Goollyyyyyyyyyyyyy, as Gomer Pyle used to say. I let the the kids out of the growout pen so I could rake up and freshen it up a bit. Those are 17 and 15 week old pullets that I had incorporated some time back. Then let the older 20 week old pullets out of the turnout pen so they could forage and I could clean up their area. Just a few little squabbles but nothing major. Next thing I saw was the older gals in the pen with the younger ones making themselves at home and checking out the digs. Before I came in there were some of the younger ones exploring the round pen where the big gals reside. Solves another problem I was dealing with, which was rotating free time for 3 pens. I'm hoping enough of the older pullets will be able to go with Bruce, which means I can move the younger pullets into the big round pen and have a free enclosure for Prince. I'll turn it into a batchelor pad and add the bantam cockerels when they are too old to stay with their sister(s). No fear of Prince attacking the younger ones at this point since he only has one wing and doesn't care to fight.
