That would be nice. I don't think they want to deal with the cost or receiving the return receipt. IF I ever get ahold of them I will ask why they think we owe 4X what I think they owe us. And if they are going to mail something I'll ask that it come registered to make sure it gets here.Bruce, I would think that if the IRS is going to send you something like that wouldn't they send it via registered mail?

Well, that sux rocks.OK, the good news:
I got through to the IRS. Not on the number on the letter which is 800-829-8374, they are always too busy and say "call back" but I looked on the IRS site and it says that number is for "Tax practitioners". There is another number for "Taxpayers" 800-829-4933. This one let me leave a callback number.
And the BAD news:
We do owe them money, seems the overpayment from 2019 to be applied to 2020 taxes was entered in Turbotax both as an estimated payment on April 15 2020 AND on the line for overpayments applied to 2020 taxes![]()
