Wow, but not surprised. CA has a number for faults running throughout it. I saw a map like but it was on Costa Rica which someone already mentioned how many they get. I was talking to someone whose parents are from Greece and he said they talked about how many they dealt with there. DH was not scared just alarmed. This week they started with 70 degree temperature, received a ice storm and now an earthquake. It has been a none stop party.

It's been snowing since about 2PM in the Mid-Atlantic. It isn't going to amount to much because we were originally getting ran here. I just checked the forecast for next 10 days and toward end of next week we may see in the 50's. Sunbathing anyone?

If they are building a home in that area would insurance cover them in the event of an earthquake? My parents live in Florida and I don't have to tell anyone what insurance is like down there due to hurricanes. They have lived in Ocala for over 20. They were there when Andrew hit south FL. After that storm insurance became impossible in FL. If you don't know Ocala is in North Central Florida (no coast) and if you moved there after that storm you would have a major problem getting house and property insurance. It got worse after the hurricane season where they have one hurricane after another go across the state. My DH and I missed one that came in in SW FL by a week when we were on vacation in Sanibel. Our original plans was to go on the week the hurricane came in but the place we rented was not available. Talk about close call.
 
My youngest child is going off to college this fall and after 33+ years of having kids/teenagers and loads of their friends in my house my husband and myself are going to be empty nesters. Except that we have hens, tropical birds, dogs, cats, and fish. I am taking classes on beekeeping and starting on my dream of getting my Master Gardeners License. I feel sad that my children will be all gone, but I am looking forward to it too. Have any of you dealt with this issue yet? Did you have trouble adjusting? Did you just keep busy so you didn't have to think about it too hard? I don't know if that is what I am doing but it feels right to me. I just want to know where my gold watch is for my retirement as a full time mom...lol
 
Less than two weeks to go until I get to see my family.

Mrs Oz has had an amazing week in Bali. Tonight she will be in Bangkok before getting an early flight to Manila tomorrow.

Many many years ago, the husband of Ibu (mother) pictured below with Mrs Oz, along with his 4 beautiful daughters and son met me on the top of a volcano in Java. I Gusti Ngurah Alit, the little prince of Penebel became an instant soul mate of mine and he informed me within minutes of us meeting that we were brothers in a past life but forever and a day, he would consider me his son. I have been a part of this amazing family ever since. Of course I could no longer chase my princess sisters lol.
