The Old Folks Home

We have no garbage service at all. So it goes to the dumpster when one of us piles it all in the truck and takes it there. I hate it. But we don't have to do it on any certain day. But if you go Sunday evening, all the dumpsters are full.
I don't have any here either, so burnable trash is burned, cans and glass jars cleaned and loaded into empty feed bags to take to the recycling center. If and when.....

Dh, and grandson have been on a mission. There are too many rats in my coops. Dh has bought traps, we've put out baits, and today they discovered live traps. They got 2 of them, and put some leftover Subway sandwich from lunch in them. They've already caught, and killed 2 rats. With all we're doing, hopefully within a week, or two, we should not see any rats, or at least a big decrease in their population. My men out on rat safari.

Tonight it's going down to 40, but the wind is a steady 17 mph. Tomorrow night it's going down into the low 20's. Mother Nature seems to be very confused. Florida is suppose to be tropical, year round.
Are you going to make a rat fur jacket?

Cat litter box?
That'll work too! Used the dirt box trick first with Prince when he was in the house recuperating from surgery.. Then as my chicks started growing at about 3 weeks they are introduced to an old pie pan filled with dirt. It's worked well for me so far. They bathe in it, eat it, and get good gut bacteria going as well.

Yes, i have the same type metal racks for my fabric and other sewing stuff.
You can actually be very fanciful with them. I won't show you my 'how did I collect all this' junk amongus room!

Oh My!
Blake from TSC delivered the cattle panels today when he got off of work.. Took him on a tour of the coops. Greystoke and his ladies were out roaming and freaked the heck out. Seems they don't like strangers at all.. nor did any of the others. They know momma! And that ain't momma! So Greystoke and a few of his ladies made their way into the front area in all their fussing and fuming.. KE and his ladies were in the front area.. When Blake left I loaded Gator and 4 cartons of eggs in the jeep and went to Amanda's. She gave me 4 Cochin eggs to hatch (at least she thinks they are, lol). When I got home, Greystoke and KE were in a dual to the death! They were both so worn out from fighting I was able to scoop Greystoke up in my arms without a fuss at all. Poor bloody thing.. I see eyes, so that's good but comb is something else. I'm sure he got spurred pretty good. Put him down in his own pen and he hurried off to the corner with his ladies. KE is pretty much none the worse for wear in spite of being 1/3 the size of Greystoke. Every body is locked up tight now, and traps are reset for the night.
