The Old Folks Home

My Dad had 3 hip replacements! I guess they only last about 10 years. One got infected before it healed and had to be cut open again. Ugh.
I'm worried about my wife's knees. Two replacement in one and one in the other.
The one with the second has a plate holding it together and probably cannot be ever replaced a gain. The second on can be replaced one more time. Next week we contact the ins company about mobile schooters that will travel over rough lawns to keep the need for new knees down in both of us. Less pain for us and less expense for the ins company if they see it that way.

I had the ice pack water circulating machine after the first shoulder surgery that was not a replacement but a scrape off the spurs event. So far so good but it is getting a little noticeable and this coming time I want the real deal and be done with it. One of my mother's friends had had every single joint that could be replaced done. She should have gotten a healthy discount or paid for a spokesperson with a track record like that.
I had a big ol spur and a pretty bad tear. When I finished therapy they were all congratulating me for getting through it and saying to each other..did you see that tear they repaired? Glad it's done. Now if my right one will be OK. Got sent home..I think I shared this..when my blood report came back...low potassium. Never went back.

I have a brother in law that got in on one of those really big settlements from bad ones being put in. He had been getting sick and didn't know why until it came out that they were bad. He had it switched out. The dr told him that the whole joint was filled with black gunck. They had to clean it the best they could but that stuff got into his bloodstream. He's doing better now but still has issues. :(

I think my painful steroid injections are beginning to work. I can walk a little better now and manage with wife's help to get a major job done among the coops this morning. If I get a little better more tomorrow will be a day of celebration among some good friends I've missed a lot for the last few months.
