The Old Folks Home

Normally summer afternoon rains were common in the south east along the coasts. Not this last year. We had a frigid winter with temps much lower than normal and then summer heated up above normal. I guess that averages things out.
Did the crazy weather help knock back parasites?

Ya same here not bugs and not standing water.
We have a creek below the hill and this spring put First Saturday Lime in the marshy areas, so that helps, too but that all dried up anyway a couple of months ago. There is nothing standing around anymore and we're even having to haul water from the creek to the weeping willow trees we planted down there.

Whenever I need to hire someone to come do work, I ask for referrals from friends and neighbors. I tell the person who answers the phone/schedules the appointment about the referral when I make the call. I also tell the worker that so-and-so recommended them. That way, if they have half a brain, they realize that my friend so-and-so will probably hear about the job they did.

Their reputation is going to be out there for me, my friend, and anyone either of us talk to.

Word of mouth advertising is worth gold if it's good. Very hard to get rid of if it's not.
Very true but so hard these days when things are scheduled online and nobody will answer the phone if you do call.

We did get a few sprinkles in yard last night. Will still
need to water the garden tonight.
Brought the last cabbage from the garden so a small coleslaw with
burgers.
Pulled the rest of my plants yesterday. I'm missing. Y tomatoe sandwiches. There is a cute place they call the barn that gets fruits and veggies in season. I'm betting they still have fresh tomatoes. Going to check soon.
