The Old Folks Home

Very true but so hard these days when things are scheduled online and nobody will answer the phone if you do call.
One idea, depending on what the project is, and if you yourself can help with it, we've hired high school kids on occasion to come help. The school keeps a list of the "talents" each kid has, if any. We had them move a pile of gravel and build a frame for a concrete slab and sidewalk. They were earning money for a trip. It was a win/win!

So far, I'm still able to talk to real people to schedule the services I need.

A couple years ago, I was ordering some gravel for our road. In the background, I heard a long ago, memorable sound and asked, "Are you using an adding machine?"

Yes, she was. :love

That’s great! Recently I’ve tried to get the two of us a new dermatologist. I’ve called both in a nearby town and left messages, they didn’t call back. Last week I called an insurance broker, left a message and they didn’t call back. I’m starting to feel very irrelevant. I suppose I could walk in but then I’m an old lady so that makes me invisible. :rant
