The Old Folks Home

Life lesson 23,481. Do not post when angry or frustrated. Do not post when angry or frustrated. Do not post when angry or frustrated. Write this 100 times. Do not post when angry or frustrated. Do not post when angry or frustrated. Do not post when angry or frustrated.

(I have half a dozen posts sitting out there, and I should delete them all just on general principles. )
You can write it all out; just be sure you don't hit the "post reply" button, then backspace and erase it. I've not had to do that here, but in the chicken groups I'm in on FB, I have many times. There are so many people in those groups that I swear don't even own chickens; they just go there to stir up trouble and tick people off.

Psychiatrists say writing letters or emails you never send to someone you hate or who has been mean to you, etc. is very therapeutic, so I equate us typing replies and then never submitting them pretty much the same. :idunno☺️

I have a file of those letters. If I'm angry at someone I compose on my computer. This is just angry, and even if it's something totally innocuous I don't hit send because my anger comes through.

Okay so Pete will be auctioned tomorrow. Bought 2 bolts of fabric to make bib overhauls.
We're going to an Amish poultry swap very early in the morning. We have five, two-month old silkie and silkie/bantam cochins. They are 3 hens and 2 roos, so the deal I'll give is $10/each or $15 for all. ☺️

On to good news:
I've been doing the GOLO plan. I started on the 12th of last month and this morning I logged in at 0.1 lbs shy of 20 pounds gone.
YAY!!!!!

This means surgery will be a "Go" when I revisit the ortho doc in November. Of course, if I had lied about my height for an inch, I'd be on the schedule already.
Is that Golo expensive? How does it work? Good for you. I need to lose more than that, but it would be a start.

I wish we had Amish around these parts. Surrounded by chicken factory farms. :(. Mostly broilers. I still hope to learn the ropes at a local livestock auction that does poultry.
Those livestock auctions are hot spots for chicken illnesses. I wouldn't buy any birds there. I learned the hard way.

I've had three bad falls this last summer. I sure wish it could have been in mud. Maybe that's why women wrestle in mud? I fell on rock hard ground real hard once and on cement twice. Now I have the jitters going out doing chores alone because my wife can only call 911. Until recently she could walk with me but not any longer.
Ouch, i fell on concrete and it ripped off a lot of skin. Took a while to heal, and the skin is still red where the sores were.
