The Old Folks Home

Wishing everyone a safe day that are in the path of this violent weather coming our way. The worst is supposed to be north of us but when I looked at areas to our south they are under the same threat we are. A wide band of people are going to be impacted by the weather today.

It has gotten dark now but radar says no heavy rain before 4pm. It may be raining out now but I don't want to get up and look. We've been inside just long enough to shower and check the weather. Ma's in the kitchen whipping up a quick lunch from leftovers so it's not going to take long.

Good morning! I'm up early because hubby is. He's getting ready to drive to Pittsburgh to see a friend and meet up with his brother. Then on to North Carolina for about a week.

Freya knows something is up; she's antsy and pacing. She isn't going. She won't like that; she's a daddy's girl.
Is this friend in Pittsburgh the one who is ill?

The guys came and cut down 10 or more trees that were too close to the house. I hated it. My dogwood had to go too, despite wanting to keep it for the wild birds to land in near the feeder. Too close to the big trees. Sigh.

Yes. She's also the one who is the artist who painted this for me:

Over a year ago, they said she had 6-12 months to live, fighting breast cancer. She's proving them more wrong every day.
