The Old Folks Home

ChickenCanoe, I love your story about the new market! I've been telling a lot of people about my chicks and their egg colors! I have quite a few people excited about it. I hope too have a lot of chickens one day and sell to a lot of people!

DH just arrived home early from work and is taking a few days off-- shingles. Fortunately I've already had chickenpx and the kids are vaccinated. but I think I will call the pediatricians office for more in formation regarding what to expect with known exposure.

Gotta put a pot of chicken soup on!
Shingles--requires that you did have chickenpox as a child.

If worried, there is an vaccine for Shingles.

I think you will be ok though since you eat healthy. Stress and a lowered immune system brings on Shingles.

I'm sure some ducks do just fine in a coop and run. My birds fly really well so they don't usually suffer losses. THey stopped going to the woods after losing a friend.

Ron -- where is that wonderful duck graph?? THe one on egg production in ducks.
This might be better:

Btw, here are my one week old today fuzzy butts that I got from Wisher! They are so healthy and quick and already getting wing feathers! Y'all told me they would grow quickly, but ****! =-O

Amazing, isn't it? Oh, and BTW, I hope you wanted an EE rooster - 'cause I think I've spotted one.

Thanks guys! We were actually just talking about ducks last night. I have a HUGE list of things/ animals that I want on my road to self-sustainability: milk goats, bees, bat boxes, as many fruit trees as can grow here. And that's not all I want! Actually, Oz's plantation sounds like heaven on earth to me!

Lol! You know, I have next to no chicken experience, but I kinda thought that one would be a he! I'm keeping only the girls from this batch. I want to get a different, unrelated rooster for each breed. I hope my favorite one that is darker is a girl then!
