The Old Folks Home

Here is a photo that a friend on another thread built...a mason bee home. Hmmm, wondering
if the wasps would like it too though. Although, the wasps around here like to build up under things
and make those big ol ugly round nests.

Should add, it's almost done. Would like to have one of these around my fruit trees.
THis would be easy to make, except for the tubes-- what was used to make the tubes??

For native pollinators, the holes need to be over 6" deep for mostly females to emerge. Under 6" will be mostly males.
CC are you talking aboutthe masonbees?

Welcome!

Native pollinators involve lots of animals.

These are the animals that did the duty before European honeybees were imported and for smaller collections of flowering plants, they are the ones that have always carried the load.

If it looks like I killed a thread, I keep posting until it starts going again--kind of like thread CPR.....

That is a good one. I may have to try it. It's like people are thinking, enough said. I do talk too much.

Oh t
What kind of chickens are in the background. From what I can see .They are gorgeous (hope that is spelled right)

Oh thanks! I have some speckled Sussex, silver laced Wyandotte, gold laced, barred rock, red star, and a few mystery pullets.

By the sound of what I just typed I may have a chicken problem.....need a 12 step program.
