The Old Folks Home

chickiesoup, your comment of her being blessed having me fighting hard for her brought tears to my eyes. You have no idea how guilty I have felt for having left her in there too long. If only..I knew, I could have gotten her out before this happened.
This incident has opened our/families eyes in so many different ways. Life happens fast we say? Too fast sometimes. Never know when you could lose a loved one. Sometimes we are prepared, especially with an older loved one that has been sick, or .. just older. Or someone suffering with cancer for so long. But, you never know from day to day what could happen. Love one another.

Actually, the American Herring Gull is only slightly smaller than its European cousin. Locally, they often pick up fist-sized clams in the marshes when the tide is out, and drop them on nearby parking lots to break them. We have the Black-Backed Gulls here on the coast, too, they just aren't very common.
