The Old Folks Home

Is it odd that as a 19 year old girl that this is my favorite thread?

I was raised by my Grandparents my whole life and grew up a neighborhood that was 99% family and if they were not blood family they were like family and only 2 kids other than my brother and my self with in a 5 mile radius. So I am much more comfortable around older people than people my age. Plus you can't really learn anything if you hang out with people your own age where as if you are with older people they can teach you so many things!

My favorite stories are those from when they were growing up and had acres upon acres of crops and farm animals...oh how I have dreamt to be able to go back in time a witness that for myself!
Welcome!

I like to think of myself as young too, although like most people on this thread, I'm closer to thirty than twenty.

There are some great people on this thread, and a lot of shared knowledge, so you'll feel comfortable here at the old folks home.

As in.... You are 70? Or, as in, you are 26?

Could go either way.

Hummmmm, I might need to find an 'antique people' thread. :lau

Alaskan, we could start a thread, "Relics of Days Gone By"/

@Peep_Show...After my FIL had by pass surgery, he went through some extreme mental changes which was only controlled by medication. He went from a mild mannered, funny man into a raging manic-depressive. He would often quit taking his meds because they made him feel drowsy and slow and eventually was court ordered to take them. He got arrested 10 times in one year...definitely not the man I knew.
