I just got back from having lunch at the Ferguson Brewhouse in downtown Ferguson. Drove past the police station, the Quiktrip that was burned and drove through Northland shopping center and saw the helicopters, hundreds of police cars and armored swat vehicles. There were large groups of peaceful protesters. I spoke to a couple CBS journalists having lunch at the brewhouse. It was a bit surreal.
The MO state police are taking over the security of the area after the heavy handed action last night when journalists and aldermen doing nothing wrong were arrested and released this morning with no charges. Al-Jezeera America was setting up to film last night on a side street about 75 feet from West Florissant. There were no protesters or anyone else around. They were tear gassed. When they ran away, a swat vehicle pulled up and pulled down all their equipment.

All sides of the rioting need to get their act together and start behaving like civilized people.

It's a great place to have lunch. Lots of good restaurants down the strip.
A friend and I shared the Brewhouse grill - pulled pork, roast beef and baby back ribs.

Probably not the best place to have dinner right now. Hopefully the state police will have a more even handed manner.

There was really only real rioting Sunday night and that was by non-residents. The police have been on the offensive ever since.

I have friends that live in Ferguson. One of my best friends is a lifelong resident. He owns the house next door to his parents' house where he grew up. I recently helped him renovate it. The residents all get along well. When I'm out with him and his friends, even though he's a lot younger than I am, I'm still amazed that these young people really don't see skin color. Same goes for my kids.

I've never considered myself racist but I would probably still cross the street. I was in Rome one night walking the streets after sneaking into the Coliseum and the Forum exploring. My hotel was in a poor area and there was a creepy guy following me. Every time I'd cross the street, so would he. I turned the corner and ran for my life.

As much as people want to declare it no longer exists, racism is alive and well. My parents were racist. My brother in law is extremely racist. He saw his daughters in the street in front of his house talking to a couple young black kids that lived in their neighborhood. He ran out of the house yelling, "Get out of here you N*****". He then told his daughters to never let him catch them talking to N***** again. The kids just happened to be born with black skin. Not a crime.
The people who my friend lives with, whom I went to lunch with, are very racist, calling the people in Ferguson 'shiners'.

I've got some Legbar x Marans OE's going in my incubator right now... Well, at least I think I do. The Legbar shells are really too dense to see the veining this early in the game at Day 4. I was hoping to get some blue layers in there, but they (the auctions I bid) fell through before I set the eggs. I have CQ's, Welsummers and OE F1 & F2.... cammo colors!

I can candle them--with a Brinsea high intensity ova view...

There is a 250 lumens led flashlight at walmart made by ozark trail. U can candle a brick with it.

The important thing to look for is a yellow light instead of blue. The shells reflect blue.
