I need to candle my eggs soon.

What my incubator is supposed to look like (this was me before the insanity took completely over... note the purple egg, Kim!):

What it looks like now (this speaks volumes on the state of my sanity):

I still feel like it's too early to say absolutely not to the eggs... and I know if I take one out to candle it I will never, ever, be able to cram all those eggs back in there.

Looks like something I would soo do..that darn e-bay. I ordered 24 barred rock eggs..came 5 days out! He was so nice to replace them, with 28 eggs. They are doing well, I have 21 that are looking good. I love the still bators. I sold my forced air. I find I do better in the still air. Like the mama hens.
I also have some olive eggers in another bator, only 5 are looking good at this point. Almost time for lock down. They had that watery look in the bottom, and most of those that had it didn't make it, but, I have two that are still thriving. Still with the, what I call at time of hatching, the gobbledy goop. :D Most of the time if they make it to lock down, I just go ahead and help them around a half a day before they are due to hatch, if I don't catch it before they do pip, they drown. It's a real thick goopy stuff. I've seen it many times in shipped eggs.
I have more olive eggs coming. She will ship out on Fri. I sure hope these do better. I've tried so long for an olive egger! All last year! People would send eggs out that said they were olive egg in color. I realize that they can go darker from the ones hatched, but, these eggs were mint green most of the time. :( The ones I have in now are nice..and the ones I have coming are even darker. whoot!

YAY!!!!! Mine haven't started laying yet this year. Not one lavender egg

Gotta love those purple eggs! What's hatching out of it?

Funny though, all the eggs here are so light so far this year, but getting a bit darker over time and I have some new girls laying so I'm even throwing in some pullet eggs. Their's started out darker than my older girls who usually have really dark eggs, so maybe the pullets will have me back up to 8s once they darken up. Just took this pic, but my phone makes everything look the same. Weird.

Setting these tonight

The Marans eggs look so light here. See the one I have tilted? My hen that lays my darkest eggs starts out with these splattered eggs for a few days and then the ink kicks in. Later in the season she lays the splattered ones again. The bottom right is a first egg from one of the pullets, so I hope when they all start adding some color here that she lays even darker ones. And since I haven't seen a lavender egg yet, the top right 3 eggs are from Big Bird. She's the momma of the lavender layers, so here's hoping I get more. the 4 from the left don't look like it here, but they are a deep rose color. They're art of my lavender egg project too. Just hope the brown egg gene doesn't kick in enough to give me green eggs. Only time will tell. Just wish the colors were showing correctly. These are 4s and 5s and look on here like BR eggs. grrrrr

I'm not a psychic either, but I slept at a Holiday Inn last night and I am not seeing purple eggs in your future either SCG!

I horror! OMG this means SOMEONE ate it either way. I'm heartbroken. Guess while I'm out today I'll have to drown my sorrows at Starbucks. I have no words to discribe the pain.

Bad, SCG! Bad, no cookie!

Wolfie, I don't know what got into SCG, because I would CERTAINLY not eat a chicken from a purple/lavendar egg of yours. As a matter of fact, if you sent me a few of them, I would hatch them gently, raise them in a warm brooder, take lots of pics for you to see and maybe even take them to Starbucks for treats...
