I need to candle my eggs soon.
What my incubator is supposed to look like (this was me before the insanity took completely over... note the purple egg, Kim!):

What it looks like now (this speaks volumes on the state of my sanity):

I still feel like it's too early to say absolutely not to the eggs... and I know if I take one out to candle it I will never, ever, be able to cram all those eggs back in there.
Incubator designed for 24 eggs... holds 34.

Looks like something I would soo do..that darn e-bay. I ordered 24 barred rock eggs..came 5 days out! He was so nice to replace them, with 28 eggs. They are doing well, I have 21 that are looking good. I love the still bators. I sold my forced air. I find I do better in the still air. Like the mama hens.
I also have some olive eggers in another bator, only 5 are looking good at this point. Almost time for lock down. They had that watery look in the bottom, and most of those that had it didn't make it, but, I have two that are still thriving. Still with the, what I call at time of hatching, the gobbledy goop.
Most of the time if they make it to lock down, I just go ahead and help them around a half a day before they are due to hatch, if I don't catch it before they do pip, they drown. It's a real thick goopy stuff. I've seen it many times in shipped eggs.I have more olive eggs coming. She will ship out on Fri. I sure hope these do better. I've tried so long for an olive egger! All last year! People would send eggs out that said they were olive egg in color. I realize that they can go darker from the ones hatched, but, these eggs were mint green most of the time.
The ones I have in now are nice..and the ones I have coming are even darker. whoot!
