The Old Folks Home

Wish you were out here to keep a conversation going rather than the same song going over and over and over in my head. What's that called? An earwurm?
Don't get me started on earworms. I had one recently that lasted for a couple of weeks!

Fortunately, most of the people who vanish into the ether do so because the pattern of their lives change, often for the better, and they just haven't got the time anymore.

If I vanish my toddler likely hid my phone....

I have never heard the expression " earworm"
Conjures a rather creepy image.

My toddler turns 25 in two weeks.... I used to have a little play area set up at the side of the bed so I could get a teeny bit more sleep in. He used to make this funny little sound when he found something interesting to do... makes your eyes pop right open. I look down and he has my portable telephone with its antenna pulled all the way out... It would extend almost a foot. and he had his chubby little fingers on the antenna in a death grip and was shaking the phone up and down I grabbed it just as the antenna snapped right off.

Serves me right for trying to snag another five minutes.... I have no idea where he got it .

Somewhere around here I have pictures of my son, then not quite toddling, with my cell phone in his hand. I had gone to a professional photographer to get some pictures done, and it turned out to be one of those days when the kid just didn't take a nap. He was really cranky, and put both the photographer and me through the wringer trying to get a picture that wasn't of him crying. All the props they had just fell flat; the only thing that made him happy was my phone . . . .

(DS is now a high school graduate, and he would be miserable with my phone now. He has a phone of his own, and I swear, it's more powerful than this laptop!)
