Maybe Idiot's Wife needs some counseling re: her resistance to giving up things(roosters, ducks) etc. that are bad or hurtful to her. But, then again it may cause her to axe the bird and dump the husband.

Ok folks....I need ur help..to make a long story short, we have 2 big (12-14 lb) brahma cockbirds that do not fit into our breeding goals whatsoever. They are evil. I listed them on craigslist but nobody wanted them. Sooo. Im processing em. My dw @idiotswife could use some opinions. She is still emotionally attached to them, even though they attack her every day

Just do it and put them in the freezer for a couple of weeks. I cooked the 16 mo Cobb 500 rooster that I processed 4 days ago. Boiled for about 3+ hours and still tough and bitter tasting. Going out to the animals. Dogs like it.

I had a 6 mo rooster and did not have the bitter taste. This is totally different. But then my palate has been formed by the grocery store. I may have to learn new skills to prepare old ones. Other than feeding to the dogs and chickens.

I spazzed out doing our roo "white" I was the "holder" DH the axe man... We use a couple of nails to keep the animals head in place and it pulled some the roosters feathers out getting him in between them and the rooster freaked out and I freaked out but his head came off clean anyway... And it was done, but after that I couldn't help with Beck... A buddy had to come help. They both tasted great first roasted then the left overs for soup...
