The Old Folks Home

Even on the bottom of the blade you want the tabs to ride in the groove.
I find that on electrics (or at least the cheap ones I've used), the chain needs frequent tightening.

I remember using real chainsaws in the 60s that rarely needed tightening during the day and rarely had a chain jump off.

My suggestion is to get rid of the chainsaw and get a sawsall unless you have to cut all the way through a large tree trunk. Dulled way too many chains on mesquite trees before trying out the sawsall. Works like a charm and WAY easier to change out the blade. Just my two cents ;)

And here it is!

I am realizing that... this is one from Harbor Freight. Its a great learning experience for me because I have a Huskvarna at home that I have been avoiding using. Its about the same size but its that whole motor deal that spooks me. I can work through it now.

Not my chainsaw but my moms. I have a saws all and have broken my share of those blades for sure.

I have a gas powered chainsaw for the house that i have never run.... The deal is I am not just cutting mulberry trees at home I have a very large mesquite that needs to have its skirts lifted.... As well as ribbon wood and different Kinds of desert trees that need pruning. I have no electricity available. So unless a Saws all comes in gas powered I need to learn how to use a chainsaw.

Working with this electric saw is showing me how it works and adjusts and the wonderful advice I have gotten so far about oiling and circumstances is helping me to understand even better.
