Balut and rocky mountain oysters, both on my list of foods I never want to try Lol! They actually sell duck Balut out of a poultry hatchery in California, was checking out any and all hatcherys and what breeds they had and found that one. They sell live chicks and dead in the shell.

It was Metzer Farms. They incubate the duck eggs 17 days, candle, then ship uncooked only withen central California. They say they are highly nutritious.

I was under the impression that the eggs they sell as balut were set with the intention of becoming balut, not reject eggs.

Balut isn't all that bad... When I had it it tasted pretty much like a boiled egg...

Yes, sold for balut, I think they mean by candling before shipping is they make sure they are good. They are between .75 cents and a dollar each depending on size, that seems pretty cheap. They have a good selection of different breeds of ducklings also.
