We watched it religiously,I know this has nothing to do with snow or bees but, I just found the old TV show "The Real McCoys" starring Walter Brennan on you tube. Since this IS the old folks thread maybe some of you guys remember that show. I really enjoyed watching the episode. I didn't even think it was corny, and forgot how much time he spent with his flock of chickens. Maybe they could update it and call it "50 shades of pine shavings," or something to draw in younger viewers.
My age.I found it!
I saw leghorns and barred Plymouth rocks. It looked like there may have been some mottled polish in the back corner on top of the nest boxes.
There were also some bantams in there--odd choice for a show about starting an egg business.
In 1957, Walter Brennan would have been 63.
I may be in the minority but I love it compared to the original. That one creeped me out.its taking a while to get used to Diva's G-rated avatar but I like it
A diet with no artificial ingredients.Ron can't believe he was 63 then, I don't think he had plastic surgery - slim, unlined face, wow. I was 10.
I've seen him in several movies.Ron did he really have a gimpy leg? I can't remember his other roles right now.
I caught an opposum in my live trap last night. What to do what to do?
We watched it religiously,
Speaking of old things. Does anyone remember a cartoon called Tom Terrific with his wonder dog Mighty Manfred?
I'm sure you old farts all remember Howdy Doody.

I've seen him in several movies.
His last one was released in 1975 just after his death.

He was a workaholic working in over 200 movies and shorts before The Real McCoys TV show started. Many were bit parts and uncredited beginning in 1925.
He was in Bride of Frankenstein, Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Northwest Passage (big part that I remember), Sergeant York, Pride of the Yankees, the Bogie/Bacall film To Have and Have Not (he was Bogie's alcoholic sidekick), Red River, The Proud Ones, Rio Bravo, How The West Was Won, and Support Your Local Sheriff.
As for chicken trivia. WB was in a movie about chickens "Mother Carey's Chickens"

That was one of the first movies with a married couple sharing a bed in violation of the Hays Code's specifically prohibiting such behavior.
Chicken dinner. I mean dinner for the chickens. I cook them over the open grill and feed them to the chickens.
