i Realized yesterday i really am getting old and/or out of touch with the world. although I'm sure its a combination of both. As i was standing in line at the grocery store i was looking at the covers of the tabloid magazines. i had absolutely no clue who that girl on the cover of people magazine was i didn't even recognize her name. This was followed by a comment to myself of what is wrong with kids these days, every other mag was so and so did some rude,immoral, illegal thing.

Hey, since this is what the world has become, I'm glad to be "out of touch." If I was raising children, I think I'd have to blindfold them while in the check-out line.

Thankfully not everyone behaves like the tabloid types.

BAMA, i LIKE THAT i HAVE LEFT THE WORLD IN GENERAL. i MEAN i SOCIALIZE BUT NEVER LEAVE UNLESS i HAVE TO. PEOPLE NOW DAYS ARE SO MESSED UP AND THEN WITH ALL THE DUMB REALITY tv AND WORSHIP OF BAD BEHAVIOR. (Sheesh darn cap locks sorry) it's a wonder, more people are not killing themselves or in my case I am killing them. I like my little fortress here and allow no one that causes any trouble...
I don't do facebook or twitter and whatever else there is because, you see a part of people that just doesn't seem right. I have seen sides of people that I would never believe so I just leave those alone. I am too old to accept the new world and am happy in my self imposed exile.
Thank Gosh, my time is nearly over with on this planet.....

Ok, it seems some of you ladies are causing some weird problems for your chickens. egg laying cross crowers etc. You all have to figure out if you are affecting your men as well.

mmmmm, Putting a fish and cats together????? NOT A good idea unless you have a top on it. cats love to watch things as we all know, but a fish that moves will always catch a cats attention and the cat will want to play with it. you have seen cats with mice, right... They don't kill it, they play with it to death.



My first 6 hens were lesbians. They did not even know what a Rooster was for 2 years and by then, it was too late. Every time, he would try to mount one, they all would just kick his butt. I mean a gang beating. Finally the Rooster, learned to leave the older ones alone. It was so bad on him that first year, I was sure he would go crazy. Half the new ones became lesbians while the other ones followed him.... To this day, the surviving lesbians refuse to be mounted and still try to get newer ones wth them. Alot harder with 3 Roos now...

Really? I love going into the mountains! Just love it, with my DH, and of course, a dog, or two.

Headed up the trail...easy at this point. DH and Toby..the dog I lost last year. There is
little Brody, a Pie Bald in color..Dacshund.




Can't wait for the green to come along. You hike up this trail to some water. Get past
the stream, then you get into the real hike. Have to be in pretty good shape to make
it. Folks have gone up there to a pond on top of the mountain. I hear it is dried up now.

So frustrated with the multi button these days.

No!!! I love the mountains. But those had snow on them. I think they are much prettier with the snow, but from a distance! I'd live in the mountains if it didn't snow. Haven't like it except to visit since the short time I lived in Michigan when I was 12. I spent a lot of time in it on my snow mobile, but otherwise, I'll pass on snow, other than a few years apart visits to maybe Tahoe.


I have a hen that crows. She's an American Game. Years ago I had a Dom hen that crowed. No roos, so she took over. I also am down to one Game hen with spurs. She was in the spur twist lineup this week with all the roos. I've had several with spurs though.

Being old/out of touch is a good thing. I would have to say that the way the world is is also one reason why I don't want kids. My dad thinks the world is much better because we don't have to worry about polio.
