The Old Folks Home

Congrats on being a grampy. Why do you have to wait so long to find out what happened?

She blocks the entrance when she's not in there.

Ah, by block I mean put stuff in front of it yeah, she buries the entrance and pats it down properly. She doesn't stand guard, that would attract predators in a natural situation. She actually actively avoids the nest when she's not working on it. But we don't want to disturb the nest, she'll bring them out when they're ready for it.

And the nest is very deep. While she was making it, she would disappear totally into her tunnel, you couldn't see her even with a flashlight. I'd need some sort of endoscope or something to see in there. Or ground penetrating radar. Or a smartphone on a selfie stick

The traditional French rabbit in mustard and cream is pretty nice. But basically, you can use it just like chicken. No, haven't had a chance to try it yet. I might make something on it tomorrow for my birthday. We'll see.

V: that thing gets super hot. For a 1 1/2 - 2 inch cut of steak we time it for 1:15 per side for med rare. I dont do it exactly like Alton Brown because we usually use boneless ribeyes. Using the stainless bowl on top overcooks ours. Im gonna try a fatty fish on mine soon.

Bama, I was thinking a minute per side on the bottom and half a minute per side on the top with the bowl would probably be enough for a three quarter inch entrecote. I thought I'd try using a hinged gridiron with it, should make for some easy handling of the meat.
