Credit card theft and fraud is a huge mess!
Today I got a call from someone over seas stating they were the IRS and they wanted money!

got that same call saying I owed back taxes from 2007.... I said oh really... thinking back I was unemployed then... then I said where is the form you sent me and when did you send it.... She then said I am an officer and have a warrent for your arrest you owe 600 dollars.... I said.... "proove it" Bwhaahahaha... She then said WELL if you are going to speak to me that way I dont have to listen I will send the officer to collect.... and hung up....

Only later did I find out its a scam....

But I have been in collections through the IRS before... They DO NOT CALL you. First contact is always in the form of a registered letter.

My brother was in Ireland a few years and when he got home the credit card co. told him someone had charged $ 500 in liquor to his card. My brother doesn't drink. The credit card co. knew it wasn't a typical purchase and flagged it. It was taken care of. Another time someone charged 30 trips to a certain state - my brother had never been there.

He says the new cards has a special chip in them - don't know what difference that makes - I'm sure crooks will find a way around it.

Cards with just the magnet strip are ridiculously easy to fake, with the right equipment it takes a few seconds. The ones with chips aren't as easy, but I'm sure they can be copied too. And in the world of internet purchases, you really only need a picture of someones card from both sides, and their address and you're good to go. Karin's card had been used to the tune of 600 GBP in some British online clothing store that only sold white clothing. Not really the color for a person who regularly finds herself shoulder deep in the back end of a cow.

The cards with the RFID chip in them can be snagged if you have the right kind of reader and can get close enough. Just brush past people walking around a store... Thats why if you have an RFID chip in your card its good to get a metallic card keeper... Like a little cigarette case for credit cards.

We lost a cow giving birth last Sunday. My DH tried all day to get the calf out he finally used the come a long but some how the calf was attached to her spine and he could not get the calf out.
She was only 2 and it was her first calf. Loss is hard no matter if it is is a horse, cow, dog, cat, pig or chicken.

Quote: It is a good thing you already knew that! I do worry about elderly people getting scammed. My dad should never have answered the phone. My mom should have took it from him.

Told her it was a scam and to JUST LET IT GO... I had to say that again at least four times.... JUST LET IT GO.... take a deep breath and LET IT GO...
