The Old Folks Home

We are retired AF. Valdosta had a lot of milestones for us. I moved in with my hubby, got my Masters at Valdosta State, got married and had our first child there. My maid of honor still lives in Lake Park. We visited last summer and stopped by our old house while we were there.

It's more like which project will I finish first.

Most likely I will finish the bed quilt I am working on for my daughter. I really just need to border it then I will send it out to be machine quilted since she will actually be using it on a daily basis.

Then I might tackle a T-shirt quilt for my son. He will be going away to school in the fall so I think that would be nice to send with him. I have never worked on the T-shirt material so I need to do some research on stabilizing it.

My sewing teacher just made one and ended up putting interfacing on the back of all the t-shirts she wanted to use because they kept stretching. It ended up looking great but it was really frustrating for her until she figured the interfacing out.

I think my favorite city in Georgia would be Savannah. Tybee Island is my Favorite beach.

Savannah is georgeous. I like the more rural parts. Staying away from Atlanta. We also lived in Newnan, just outside Atlanta. My second child was born there so I have two Georgia peaches.

Yep. I had a friend make one years ago. I am not sure I am going to like doing it, but I hope I like the end product. It is a good use for all those T-shirts kids accumulate and it makes a great memory.

I'm sure everyone is hearing about the dreaded bird flu, killing off millions of birds because they have to be culled if it is found in the place. Still, it isn't a huge deal..yet. It is more so for those poor farmers and business' that have to cull. What can we do for our birds?

Savannah is a wonderful town, so full of history and great for walking. Unfortunately, the climbing crime rate and the summer weather nixed it off our places to permanently live, but we seriously considered it.

And all that GA food! The eats are good there.

Lol. The winters are too cold for me. I lived on Tybee Island while upgrading the Georgia Pacific gypsum mill in Savannah. I like hot weather.
