The Old Folks Home

I finally got my car back!!!!!!!

Dog got the Gambel Quail hen that set up nesting in the backyard rosebushes. Called Fish & Game to see if I'd be a candidate for jail or a citation if I decided to incubate the 15 eggs rather than let them become a critter food source. They gave me their blessing and also the number of a local Wildlife Rescue for when after they hatch. Once again the Brinsea is in action.....

This stuff going on with my son has me very worried... Work has brought it to a head and FINALLY hes got his first phsycologist appointment.... next week.

. I'm home from sewing class. My teacher finished her 3 rows of birdhouses - I'm still working on cutting mine out.

Then I plan to stay inside and be anti-social the whole rest of the weekend... I can't wait. I want to play with my new (old) sewing machine, I want to sew my birdhouses on my regular electric machine
I actually touched quilting fabric for the first time in over a year this week.

Unfortunately it wasn't mine. I spent some time helping the ladies in the church quilt group. Mine will have to wait until I clean out the sewing room which is on the to do list for the weekend.

SCG my grandmother had a sewing machine a lot like yours(the new, old one) and it was in beautiful shape. I tried using it once when she wasn't around - my foot slipped off the treadle thing and it came down HARD on my toes. I never touched it again. She had been a seamstress but, I never saw her sew. She moved in with us after grandpa died. When we moved my parents gave it away. I bet it would have been worth a pretty penny today. I just wish I had it because it was hers.

You'll have to post pictures once you get up, cleaned and ready to go. Whatcha going to make first?

They're actually not worth that much, it's more for nostalgia (and being able to sew when the power goes out).

It's more like which project will I finish first.

Most likely I will finish the bed quilt I am working on for my daughter. I really just need to border it then I will send it out to be machine quilted since she will actually be using it on a daily basis.

Then I might tackle a T-shirt quilt for my son. He will be going away to school in the fall so I think that would be nice to send with him. I have never worked on the T-shirt material so I need to do some research on stabilizing it.

To those that have suffered loss, I'm truly sorry. I will miss hearing about, and seeing pictures of Fixins, especially in the snow, since it doesn't snow here.

To those that are enjoying fuzzy additions to their flock, congratulations. I love seeing the pictures of them.
