The Old Folks Home

I saw a herding presentation done with Suffolks and Australian shepherds, it was super cool how they moved the flock. Err, herd. What's a group of sheep called?
Back in the day we had 1000 sheep on a hilly 1000 acres in Oz

My father and I would bring them out of the hills on horseback with 2 dogs - a kelpie and a border coller (the Australian shepperd is not Australian BTW)

The dogs were amazing. They did the work of 5 men.

The best part was in the wool sheds. The dogs would herd from on top of the sheep's back.

Acified copper sulphate is sold for use with chickens but why do you think they need it?
I was just trying to find out about it. A man who has been raising chickens for many years was telling someone to use it for his chickens because he had a chicken that had failure to thrive.
He said he had been using it for years and never had a sick chicken from using it.
I was just wondering about it, as so many people say to use ACV and yogurt and so many other things. I was wondering about the benefits of using it.

chickadoodles - thanks for the compliment on my chickie. I can't wait to see how she grows out. Here is my latest batch.

It seems like the copper sulfate was used with something else to cure, maybe canker? It seems like a while back I was researching something and that was one of the solutions for something.

Never heard of using it on a regular basis.

Where is castportpony? She is the doc!

I have not seen Kathy in a while. One on the pages I read on the Acidic Copper Sulfate said it cured blackhead in turkey.

A bale of turtles.

Sheepdog trials are the best part of a county fair, IMHO. That and a good corn dog.

Diva,
We had some DIVINE ice cream last night: Tilamook's Malted Moo Shaike. It's a Madagascar Vanilla Bean Malted base with dark chocolate bits in it. Has a great mouth feel to it, heavy cream and not all air-churned fluffy. Highly recommend the brand...better than Dryers, B&J and Hagen Daaz.
