The Old Folks Home

They are eating medicated chick food and getting well water because we live in the country. They are in a brooder my son in law made which is in the garage. We feed and water them twice a day and clean the brooder frequently. We lost two and now one of the largest and healthiest ones is sick.

I don't see any poop and they are kind of huddled in the corner where the brooder is at about 82 degrees. They don't stay under the lamp but see to move more when it is off. Is it bad to turn it off during the day and on at night?

I think I have answered you in the New Members introduction thread, if you were the one that asked if the temp. under heat lamp was too high. Do they have a wire cover on the brooder so they get air flow- fresh air ? Is the area(room) they are in too hot? If so they don't need a heat lamp. I am worried about your chicks myself.
