The Old Folks Home

Here are a few from my second hike yesterday. The upper falls weren't quite as spectacular but they were less travelled so they were much quieter.

We lost an old oak tree in the storm last night. Missed the pig and chicken pens. It fell where we usually park the Kia. Fortunately we are planning a neighborhood yard sell for today a few blocks down the road and DH slept there in the car to keep an eye on everything.

Whoa! I hope you have a wood burning stove or fireplace to use up that old tree! Aren't you lucky!
We do have a wood stove so the wood won't go to waste. DH also wants to make a coffee table out of a slice of it. It has a huge circumference. Someone was looking out for us, that's for sure. I'll get pics of the rest of it when the rain slacks off. If a tree falls in your yard and everyone is asleep does it make a sound? Apparently not.

DiDi, had to do something with that lady bug photo..I love it! And, I love your other bug photo. I have to think of something for that.
Heading out pretty quick here to go hiking up our favorite .. little.. trail up our favorite mountain. Glad it's cloudy out, and not too warm yet.

Here is the other bug. Such great photos. She's learned her camera, and knows how to use it for sure! Just beautiful photos.
