The Old Folks Home

SCG there are also some tasty gelatoes- plus you can make malted and milk shakes - that go down cool and soothing. Plus they help keep your calorie count up there to make up for regular foods that are to difficult to swallow. Yah you could drink Ensure etc. but ice cream is much cheaper.

Great news on losing the tonsils!

Made a couple of trips this week and got these five to add to the Morris, IL one:
Clinton, Iowa
Fulton, IL
Rock Falls, IL
Morton, IL
Fairview Heights, IL
More travel next month....meeting sister that lives in WA....hopefully she will bring a couple with her.

WOW!!!! Thank you so much.

I'm fat enough that a couple of weeks with low calories would likely do me good.

That's the spirit! I know two people that have had them out as adults. One who had some discomfort even with pain meds, and one who's pain was easily managed with minimal medication. Not all recovery stories are horrible, just the ones that are most often told.

It will be fine, don't worry.

Sounds like it is  right up Felix'  alley.  Has he left us forever?   Not even a postcard?

Yeah it was nice chatting with @vehve I don't ever get to chat with someone from the other side of the 'pond'. Wish he'd at least pop in and say hi. He's been absent from a couple threads....

Whoever came up with the idea of turning coffee into ice cream?  Sacrilege I say!  :rant
Coffee icecream is my second fav! Chocolate with chunks of real peanut butter #1, but just plain vanilla is always good.
Ohh, then there's Friendly's PB&J black raspberry with peanut butter swirl!
Why do you all always have to talk about ice cream? I get in tons of trouble with the kids when I eat a half a half gallon at night...I just try to stay away from it... :'(

SCG, I know kids bounce back quicker than adults. When one of our girls had her tonsils out she gobbled down tons of ice cream and juice pops immediately after, doc sent us home pretty quick. I don't remember it putting her down at all.
Good luck and hope you have a speedy recovery as well.

I had my tonsils out as a kid and was practically tied down in the bed at Childrens Hospital by Nurse Ratchett. When I was sprung and able to go home Mom asked what I wanted. "Bacon sandwich on toast"

I agree with Wisher and Beer Can.... You should be fine! (And, thankfully, not have to deal with those grody tonsil stones. Wish I'd never seen the YouTubes)

I am pretty sure the correct compliment to that outfit is a tin foil hat.

Pictures, please?
Ohhhh, I wished I had invented Aluminum wrap. Or I should invest in the Alcoa company. On our way home from visiting son and he is in there with all the others just like him. They plaster their walls witb Aluminum foil. He even puts it in his hats. Where he is currently they are not allowed ti have foil. I used to try and explain to him that the foil is just amplifing and not blocking. I told him when I was a little girl my daddy put foil on the rabbit ears so we could get better reception for shows such as his Red skelton show and the Jackie Gleason show. He told me grandpa said it did not work. We should have stock in Alcoa. I must ad I repeated this all to his Doctors. They asked me if I believe the Sats are sending our son messages too? No I said. Then what is being blocked or amplified?

Figured I spent way too much time indoors last weekend sewing so I went out for a hike today. Not extremely long, a little over 4 miles total. It was a great day here to be outside and I got rewarded with getting pictures of two bull moose and a bunch of other pretties. Had a lot of fun and even took SCG along with me in a way. I happened to have signal most of the hike so I bombed her with pictures the whole time I was out. It was almost like having her there.

Actually... That was what I was thinking when I saw the moose photo.... It is getting close to rutting season when they get all sorts of testy.

Great photos though... My favorite is the log end with the flowers.
