The Old Folks Home

Linda, I'm still waiting for the photo of the rooster staring down at himself in the mirror. You know the BYC rules, IF you don't have a photo, IT never happened.

Diva, just for you, I have left off duckling watching to upload these pictures.

Aren't his fluffy cheeks adorable?

OOkay My avatar is me when I was 10 + years younger & at the peak of my beauty. I've gone downhill fast. I'm not surprised you question my avatar. I'm from one of the smallest ethnic groups. I am a Conehead from Remulac, south of France. You may have seen my relatives Beldar, Prymat & Connie on the old, old Saturday Night skits. Honestly, they treated them like circus side show freaks.

I've been living in seclusion most of my life but, found such warm acceptance on BYC that I decided to "come out." Response has been mostly favorable - BYC is open to all. But,now and then I get people asking where they can get a hat like mine. I have to confess it isn't a hat, it's my head. You know how some people judge others by their "headgear" - well , it makes me nervous

Oh I think that's where DiDi and I are going to be hiking next.

Fantastic. Any good local cuisine we should enjoy?

And don't worry, I'm not interested in your head as a hat. It would detract from my nose, which is my biggest and best asset.

Linda I knew you were telling the truth - honestly. I was just teasing you, ya know. I never doubted you for a minute.

But teach him better manners he is standing atop "sacred" stuffed animals like they were compost. Time for him to go back to the coop.

What a nice story. I do love happy endings. Thank you for sharing. Can't imagine the stories you have of pandemonium in the house... I remember the insanity of sharing a bathroom with ONE sister.

Get this..we only had ONE ~ bathroom!! Time schedule for sure. Kids had their time to be in, and a time to be out in the mornings when getting ready for school.

Wow. That is amazing that everyone got out on time. I guess when you have more people waiting downstream it's harder to hog the bathroom. My sister was older and much bigger than me... so she hogged the bathroom knowing the repercussions of it wouldn't be large. The benefit outweighed the risk.

I kinda now wish I had an army of siblings to kick her out.

Happy Friday. I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow.

Been real busy today. I got the pen all cleaned, both little coops cleaned out and the nest boxes lined with fresh shavings. Got the smallest coop fixed up for the two month olds because today was moving day for them. Pretty sure I have two boys and three girls in the batch. Fixed up the coop with my new power tool:

Cordless brad nailer. Just love this thing! Saves so much time. Only took me about half an hour to fix up the coop (some of the trim boards had come off) and maybe another 15 minutes to fix some trim boards and the door on the big coop. Power tools and camera accessories are what I like, forget jewelry!
