The Old Folks Home

Thanks Ron. Sorry I'm a week behind on posts. No leaks in the roof thank heaven. Whew! We escaped those storms unscathed. Not as lucky as some. There has been one confirmed death from those mudslides. I'm surprised not more as it was really bad. They just opened Hwy 58 yesterday-a week later.
Watch out for January to February--that is when California should have most of the mudslides from El Nino. The last 5 big El Nino years worked that wat.

I always wanted to learn and could not find a teacher. Thank goodness for Youtube! It is a wonderful teacher.

My Mom taught sewing when she was a 4-H Leader. Maybe you could find someone through your local 4-H that will give you lessons.

El Nino and/or climate change. Prayers going out for those in Mexico that's about to get hit with the most powerful hurricane/typhoon/cyclone ever to make landfall anywhere on the planet. 205mph winds between Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta. That's the equivalent of a 30 mile wide EF5 tornado. Eventually Texas will have lots of flooding from Patricia.

That's a pretty mountainous area which will impact the storm but that also means landslides. I've been horseback riding along rivers up in those mountains. There are 7 rivers that flow into Banderas Bay at Puerto Vallarta. They often get heavy rains this time of year but the mountains are right against the coast so I can only imagine what impact a storm like that will have.

I think it went from a cat 2 to a cat 5 in just a day. The water there is very warm right now. I think it is also a record low barometric pressure too.

We're even supposed to get quite a bit of rain from it by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Texas is already having flooding so I don't know where they're going to go with this water.
