The Old Folks Home

Thanks for the tip! I'm not great at applique, but this is one that my mother started before she passed away, its the first one of hers that I'm going to finish. Its about 34" square.
The other is a bed quilt that she made for me several years ago.

Those are lovely. I find applique just as easy as piecing, once you get the hang of it. The trick is to go slow and line the right of your zig zag with the very right edge of the applique. If you go further onto the fabric it will pull and bunch.

Scg your wall hangers and table topper are beautiful.

I'll take a break from posting fabric to say:

I also bake.

Work is having a potluck tomorrow. I realize pumpkin pie isn't quite a December thing but 1) I didn't have Thanksgiving this year and 2) the girls at work were flabbergasted that I made my own pie crust (but store bought is so easy...) let alone knew how to actually turn a pumpkin into a pie.

So I had to bring in pumpkin pie. I thawed too much pumpkin, also, so I made mini pumpkin cheesecakes with the remainder.

I am hoping at least one of them appreciates a good homemade pie crust. It really isn't difficult to make or do.
yummmmmmmmssss they didnt leave a single piece at Thanksgivin! my piggish children!

Here's what I finished up this weekend.

Wall hangings for my mother and sister (cardinals are supposed to be the spirit of deceased loved ones. While I don't believe that, they'll eat it up, and if not it's at least cheery)

Good morning folks!

Line from a movie I watched over the weekend:

Get another sweet little old lady to yell "BINGO!"

I am loving all the different sewing projects on here. Alaskan, do you have a link to where you found that chicken quilt? It is really cute and I would like to see if I can find the pattern.
Here is what I am working on right now. This is a project for a friend's daughter who is going through a rough patch right now. She loves Warrior Cats (I had never heard of them before now). I am going to make the panels into an attic window style lap quilt and add a border or two to bulk up the size a bit. If I had thought of how small this would be, I would have started with bigger panels.

I finished the last panel this morning before we headed into work. Oh and it is snowing now, has been snowing since last night and is supposed to snow into tomorrow evening. Yay

I have had a bad morning, I lost 6 hens. And I was already having problems trying to fill egg orders.
So I ordered a pullet rainbow assortment it should be here Thurs or Fri.
