Wisher, thank you for all of that.
You and I think alike on many things.

I remember my first winter with a kid and snow.... The baby sled we got was a dud. You stuck the baby in the sled, strapped him in, and then drug it behind you with a rope..... I think that the hope was to achieve a nice walk outside. However, that sled loved to topple over and smash my baby's head on the snow.Merry Christmas to everyone on the old folks home!!!!! All the prepwork is done. The pies are made, the ornaments are made, the turkey is brining, presents are under the tree. Now for the hard part, waiting for everyone to get up!Cowboys colors for DH and of course the other is for my granddaughter. We have been having a wonderful visit with DD and her family. Went out and got a little sled to pull her around in. She wasn't too sure about it but it was cold and a little windy. Today it is snowing a bit so not sure if we will get a chance to try again.

Thank you for sharing, Wisher. I am an atheist but absolutely fascinated by religion and ritual.
My Catholic boss bought me a book entitled "What Happens After I Die: Jewish View of Life After Death" for Christmas this year. I have gotten a few chapters into it so far. I'm glad that most people that know me absolutely respect my (lack of) beliefs, as I do their beliefs. In my opinion there's no reason to become offended if someone believes something different or wishes me a merry/happy whatever. I have spent a few of my Sundays at a service out of respect for the person I was visiting. I used it as a chance to learn something. Even if I don't believe in it it doesn't mean there's not a rich history there to appreciate.
I became pretty fascinated with the Mormon story after visiting out west with Dsqard a few times but still haven't read any of the Book of Mormon or any books on Mormonism. I was hoping to get one last time the missionaries called but they wanted to visit, too, and I didn't want to waste their time. I can find out much of it online from various sources.
