The Old Folks Home

The only things that wouldn't roost tonight were the 4 pearl guineas and the 2 jerk toms.

Turkey girl laid an egg today. Guess I know exactly why they're being jerks.

Will try to find guinea butt in the morning.

I'm sorry your PT hurt so bad. Can you take something beforehand?

SCG maybe you can strap a ball and chain on the guineas so they can't get "lift." Course they are probably dumb enough to fly even if their legs stay behind -

. Cancel that idea.

How nice turkey eggs.

I had a hen that was egg bound. DH got the egg out and she had a blow out. I soaked her in the tub and used prep-h for 4 days. Today she could not walk and was crying trying to lay another egg to no avail. Her bottom was so bad that she had stopped eating and drinking.

I have a prescription for gabapentin 100 mg.that I can take 3 times a day and celecoxib 200 mg. I took a gab. after I got home but I will take one before hand next week.

I'm getting spring fever! It's such bitter cold rain here in Washington. I set my chicks up with a dust bath of peat moss today. At first they were unsure about it, and now they are just pecking it like they think it is food. I'm sure they'll figure it out at some point! Anyhow, here are some pictures of my girls!

Eggie, Effie, Lottie and Dottie.

For Guineas I use a landing net after the coop is closed. Because I cant run leap or lunge.... Works on Turks too. though it only covers their head and shoulders they think they are caught....
